Report 63 gives an overview of the number of treatments categorised by disease category over a specific period (can be shown for month, quarter or year via settings in top left corner). This report is useful to see which disease category is occurring the most on the farm. The report Health overview – medicines usage, this provides an overview of all health treatments applied to individual cows. All treatments can be checked and analyzed. Selections can be made via the settings in the top left corner.

Analysing cow health in Horizon

Cows are 24/7 monitored for their performance, health and wellbeing. This is measured at different places; 1) the astronaut, which measures for example milk production, milk colour, milk temperature, fat and protein indications, somatic cell count indication, 2) the tags, which, depending on the available measuring equipment, measures rumination and eating activity, as well as heat and inactiveness, 3) Horizon, based on the cow history and animals models in the background, advices and prediction models provide additional information. An example of how this information is used, is in the health task. The health task provides a list of cows with a sick chance of 10% or higher, based on deviating parameters and lactation data. Additionally, it provides more information on an improved or decreased sick change or if the cow is under treatment already.

Monitoring cow health in Horizon

Horizon keeps track of all health and medicine records and helps to plan actions, like vaccinations. Vaccinations can be planned with the use of treatment plans. Within a treatment plan, all required actions are summarized, which appear again in the health treatment task at the right moment.

Via an advanced filter you can set up certain requirements for planned treatments, like age, lactation status, birth date or any other property. A custom task can be created during a specific time shift to make sure the list of selected cows appears at the moment it is needed. For analytic purposes, a report could also be created with this advanced filter. Curative health treatments can be planned in a similar way.

Reoccurring and planned treatments can be set up via an advanced filter and a custom task as well, but when health treatments are applied based on certain events happening at the farm, the required actions, based on the set treatment plan, will automatically appear in the health treatment task. All entered data can be used for analysis as well.

A new window opens where information needs to be filled in, like curative or preventive medicine, the type of disease, the actual disease, or the advice given by the vet. Whenever a health treatment is applied, it will appear in the health treatment task at the required times.
