EuroTier trade fair 

In November 2022, Lely participated in the EuroTier trade fair in Hanover, Germany. EuroTier is the world's leading trade fair for animal farming and livestock management. This major event – and the leading innovation platform of the global animal production industry – is the place to be for Lely.

Lely was represented at EuroTier with an exhibition floor covering more than 1,000 m² and displaying a complete range of products and services. Of the 106,000 EuroTier visitors from 141 countries, approximately 12,500 visited the Lely stand. Representatives from Lely Centers were also present to catch up with both existing and potential new customers.

It was a great opportunity to meet farmers and stakeholders face to face and to share our passion for agriculture and innovations!

Red Cow event

Santiago de Compostela was the venue for the Third International Red Cow Event. From 17 to 20 October, our Red Cow Members were invited to this two-yearly event. All activities, such as farm visits and workshops, are organised in the area of Santiago de Compostela, in the north-west of Spain. Key themes of the event are Acceptance, Circularity and Exchange. In that light, it might not be a surprise that the event has a neutral carbon footprint!

International AgroExpo Fair 
in Turkey   

In February 2022, Lely was represented at the International AgroExpo Fair in Izmir, Turkey – one of the largest agriculture-related trade shows in the world. At the fair – which attracts approximately 400,000 visitors each year – Lely representatives demonstrated the Vector and Astronaut robots. Our representation allows us to meet new potential customers and therefore ensure growth of our market potential. The event attracts many potential customers not only from Turkey, but also from Balkan and Arab countries; a lot of visitors – and requests – come from Bulgaria and Romania. The combination of a good marketing representation in the region, ambitious engineers and a skilful level of Farm Management Support (FMS) contributed to many potentials deciding to start their buying process with Lely. In 2023, Lely will once again be represented at the AgroExpo Fair.

New Zealand Fieldays

From 30 November until 3 December, Lely participated in the largest agricultural event of the Southern Hemisphere: The National Fieldays in Mystery Creek, New Zealand. Friendly Lely representatives on site answered queries from visitors with an interest in automation and our systems. Robots – such as the A5 Astronaut Milking Robot and the Juno Feed Pusher – could be seen live in action. The event resulted in almost 30 enquiries covering robots, Luna, Juno and Calm products. In 2023, the Fieldays will return to the traditional (pre-COVID) time of early June.

1,000^th Lely Juno in Japan

In September 2022, 13 years after the introduction of the first Lely Juno feeding robot in Japan, we reached the milestone of the 1,000^th Juno installed in Japan. On 29 September, this robot, specially decorated for the occasion, was delivered to the Shinsatsunai Production Association of Nakasatsunai Village in Hokkaido. This farm was already familiar with Lely; in 2018 farmer Fuminori Watanabe started working with the Lely Astronaut milking robot. Today, this farm with 740 milking cows uses 10 Lely Astronaut A5 and seven Juno feed pushers, reducing labour on the farm – even during the farmer’s busiest season.

Lely Atlantic certified as a Great Place to Work  

In September 2022, Lely Atlantic – responsible for our business in the UK and Ireland – was awarded the Great Place to Work certification. The certification criteria are based on a list of key points, including open and accessible communication, support for personal development, an environment where everyone can be him-/herself and the pride of the team or department. A company is awarded the certification when the index score on all key points is 70% or higher.

We are proud to confirm that Lely Atlantic scored very well on all key points, especially compared to the 70% baseline. 75% of all participants perceive Lely as a Great Place to Work. We are proud of the fact that Lely Atlantic is considered a Great Place to Work – following similar certifications for Lely Turkey and Lely International – and that this is acknowledged by the certification institute.

Opening of new Lely office in Günzburg

The official opening of the new Lely office in Günzburg, Germany, took place on 16 September 2022. The festivities were joined by members of the RSO, Lely International, Lely Center representatives and the press and other stakeholders of Lely Deutschland. Lely CEO André van Troost and Northern, Central and Eastern Europe (NCEE) Director Norbert van Hemert also joined the festivities.

With its brand-new office location, Lely Deutschland is ready for growth. The location houses a training centre, enabling the local teams in the northern and southern parts of Germany to improve their skills. The new office and its training centre will certainly contribute to a sustainable, profitable and enjoyable future for farmers.

Webinar on China and the USA  

On 15 April 2022, Lely China organised a webinar between China and USA. A live connection was established with Miltrim Farm in Wisconsin, USA. This webinar was the first organised by Lely China and turned out to be very successful; the Lely WeChat account gained more than 500 followers (an increase of 64%) right after the online event.

The webinar kicked off with a pre-shot video of Miltrim Farm, including an interview with the farm manager. This farm has 30 Lely Astronaut milking robots and is one of the biggest Lely farms worldwide. After the video, a live Q&A was set up between the farm manager and the webinar attendees, allowing the participants to ask the farmer live questions. The event resulted in a lot of positive feedback from the audience.
